During KS4 we have taken students out to a number of different Colleges including Darlington, York and Middlesbrough to look round and take part in taster days. This allows our students to see the opportunities and different routes into post 16 education available to them. The students really enjoyed being in a College environment and taking part in courses they hadn’t tried before. These trips are invaluable and allow students to identify different career pathways.
As part of the volunteering programme, students have attended a number of community projects including Clervaux Trust, Romanby Primary School, local charity shops and Army Welfare Service in Catterick Garrison. The students undertook tasks such as painting buildings, putting up fences, weeding and maintaining the vegetable gardens, cutting and stacking wood, cleaning, feeding, cleaning out and looking after the animals. The students gain valuable skills through attending volunteering and boosts there CV for future employment.
