Maths

Everyday life relies on being confident with number and being able to think and plan in an organised, structured way. We endeavour to tailor our teaching to create positive experiences of Mathematics and to show that everyone can have success in the subject.

“Life is a maths equation. In order to gain the most, you have to know how to convert the negatives into positives.” – Author unknown.

The approach taken with students is positive and supportive, recognising that students present with a wide variety of behaviours, so the Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs of each individual student are considered and learning materials adapted and differentiated.

At Key Stage 3, students will work on the different areas of the Mathematics curriculum; number, algebra, geometry and measure, ratio and proportion and handling data through a variety of activities.

In Year 10 and Year 11, we offer GCSE Mathematics at higher and foundation tiers, following the AQA examination board specification.
