Mental Well-Being

Staff at The Sunbeck Centre have completed various training around mental health recently. We have a pivotal level 2 Mental Health lead and staff have completed training on Level 2 Understanding Mental Health in Children and Young People and Level 2 Suicide prevention and self-harm awareness.

If parents or pupils have concerns they can speak to their key tutor or Mrs Milne.

The Wellbeing in Mind Team are an NHS service who work within The Sunbeck Centre to provide mental health advice and support to pupils, staff and parents. A key role of the WIMT is to provide evidence-based interventions for mild to moderate mental health issues. The WIMT are also available to support the senior mental health lead to develop their whole school approach and support The Sunbeck Centre to work towards their Schools Wellbeing Award. Furthermore, the WIMT are there to provide advice and support to staff and pupils, as well as liaising with professionals to give each and every young person the opportunity for timely mental health support throughout their time at The Sunbeck Centre.
