Art

In Art our aim is to inspire each student to express and communicate his or her own ideas and personal response. Supporting students to explore and experiment, as they learn how to work with a range of materials, and techniques. Students will develop knowledge and skills to create their own works of art, craft and design. They will be introduced to the works of other artists and cultures and be encouraged to form and express their own opinions throughout their work. Cultural links define many projects and literature is often a key feature.

The planning of the curriculum recognises that students present with a wide variety of behaviour, so the Social. Emotional and Mental Health needs of each individual student are considered while adhering to the Nation Curriculum Standards. Students are encouraged to talk about their work and work of others and where possible encouraged to develop their reading skills. This means that students are constantly working to develop their confidence, resilience, imagination, creativity and many more life skills.
